Long time no post. The fishing has been too hot to spend time on the computer. Early this monthe we caught some nice fish in the mid to upper 20s with a few over 30. Lately we have been chasing the breaking fish throwing top water baits. Most of the fish are from 10 to 20lbs. It is a blast to go out and catch 10 to 20 fish. We had a quadruple on this week, 2 stripers a 5lb catfish and a 5lb largemouth. All caught in breaking fish. Im looking forward to eating some turkey thursday and getting back out on the water friday!

The fishing continues to be great! The fish are well into there fall patterns. I have been neglecting my Internet time for fishing time. Trout is still the ticket for the big fish, although I have caught a few on gizzards lately. I have found a new gizzard hole that is producing some monster shad, I'm talking 14 to 18 inches long! I shouldn't say I found it, some good fishing friends let me in on it. Planerboards, downlines, freelines and balloons are the ticket right now. I am throwing everything at them but the kitchen sink. We have caught fish on all methods lately with planers, and freelines being the most productive.

Bart came up in search of some monster stripers and we found them! The total was 42lbs, 34lbs, 30lbs, and a 25lber. We fished planer boards and freelines. The big fish continue to feed. We have had some great trips lately. Barts big fish before this trip was around mid 20's, he topped that with every fish he caught!

The fishing has been on fire! I have taken quite a few of trips since my last post. We have caught a lot of fish in the mid twenty's and several over 30 with one 40lber to top it off. Planer boards and floats have been the ticket. The next month will hold the same patterns before the falling temps will send the fish on the move to there fall and winter patterns. The fishing right now is some of the best I have experienced all year. Big gizzards and big trout have been the ticket. I have seen some skipjacks lately so they will be my next target for monster striper bait.

I have been very busy fishing, leaving limited time to post reports. Last week we caught some nice fish. On a couple of trips we caught a 25, 28, 36, 36, 37, 35, and a few more in the 20's. The fishing is excellent right now for big fish and numbers. I took some guys out from Western Kentucky on Thursday below Melton Hill dam. We caught close to 20 fish on a combination of pulling planer boards and down line fishing. I will post some more pics later I have to get back out on the water this afternoon. The weather is awesome right now. It has been a very mild August and looks like September is going to be the same. The fish will hold there summer patterns for about another month or so. I look forward to the fall fishing and the leaves changing! I have been fishing with gizzards and trout for the most part this summer. I haven't been able to keep up with the skip jacks this summer. I've not heard of anyone catching skip jacks this summer. I have a few good skip jack holes for the fall so hopefully they produce and the big fish catching will continue.

We dodged a few storms and ended up fishing in the rain this evening. The water temp was cool and the bait was very active. The late summer pattern is one of my favorite times to fish. We only had 2 hours to fish, but we made the best of it. Ben caught his two biggest fish ever! He caught a 28 and a 24lber. Mike Mad was on the boat with his new air conditioned rain suite. Note to self Mike... Dont pet the duck. lol Keep posted, I will be on the water for next few days.
